Facilities
We have four rooms available to hire for tuition, rehearsals, or performances. Our venue is ideal for rehearsal rooms for the Edinburgh Fringe and International Festivals.
Year-round we are a venue for master classes, music exams, pupil recitals, chamber music meetings, receptions and similar events.
You can create professional recordings and film on our premises, although you may need to hire the full venue to guarantee you're free from distractions and interruptions.

Recital Room
2 Steinway Model B pianos
Zuckerman harpsichord
Up to 50 people
The room is ideal for private concerts, music exams, chamber rehearsals, recording, lectures, classes, summer schools, photos, small wedding ceremonies and private parties.
Lounge
2-6 people
This is an alternative option when the other rooms are occupied. It's great for private vocal or instrumental tuition, and small ensemble rehearsals. The Blüthner piano is not in playable condition at present.
Artists' Room
1 digital piano
2-4 people
This nicely decorated room is regularly used by string and voice teachers as a music studio for practice and teaching. There is a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano. The room is large enough for up to four instrumentalists.
Mezzanine Room
No piano
Up to 8 people
Modestly decorated, well-lit and heated, this room is good for meetings, one to one instrumental tuition or individual practice. It can accommodate 8 people seated around tables It does not contain a piano.
Performances
We'd love to help you host a free concert or maybe a fundraising event. If you'd like to raise funds, you can invite an audience and request donations from those in attendance. Unfortunately we can't host events for the public or with ticket sales.
We do have a small coffee area with a wee fridge, microwave, hot water, a sink, and hand-washing facilities. You'll need to bring your own catering and dishes, as we've no facilities for cooking.
Although we want you to enjoy yourself, we can't hire out the venue for parties or dancing. Smoking and the sale of alcohol are also not permitted on site.
Size and access
The max capacity of the whole building is 55 people.
There is a stairlift in place to assist those with disabilities. However, in general the building is not wheelchair accessible.
